Christian Riese Lassen's Limited Edition
Disney "Sorcerer of the Sea" H: 36" x W: 24"
Canvas Painting

Includes Certificate of Authenticity and Appraisal Report

Artist Christian Riese Lassen has been recognized the world over for more than 20 years for his unique art and vision. Regarded as the premier marine artist of our time, his majestic paintings inspire appreciation and awareness of Mother Earth. Raised on the island of Maui, the self taught artist and avid surfer found his original influence in nature and from the ocean and has translated this intimate knowledge into enchanting and popular works of art that have brought us closer to marine life than ever before.

Selected by the United Nations as Goodwill Ambassador for 1998, International Year of the Ocean, Mr. Lassen created the painting "Sanctuary" for the United Nations commemorative stamp for "Ocean Preservation". Mr. Lassen has also partnered with the Walt Disney Company incorporating Disney characters, including Mickey Mouse, into 3 original Lassen art works and related projects.

This authentic hand-signed, hand-numbered piece is a Disney Limited Art classic featuring Mickey Mouse as the Sorcerer of the Seas. This piece displays a rare combination of limited edition Disney licensed characters rendered by Christian Riese Lassen into the seascapes that he is internationally famous for. Since the painting is a giclee print, the paint texture and brush strokes are even reproduced. The piece measures 24″ X 36″, on canvas, framing not included. This is a must-have for any Disney art collector or Christian Lassen seascape enthusiast!

This piece is hand-signed and hand-numbered by the artist, Christian Riese Lassen, in gold ink.  It is a rare find indeed!

What is an Artagraph?

An artagraph is dimensional oil on canvas, which recreates not  only the color of the original, but also the surface texture in every detail. First, digital  laser scans the colors of the original. The colors are printed overlapping layers using oil based inks on oil substrate (oil base). Second, relief-molding process is taken from the  surface of the original by using patented silicone gel substance. After capturing every surface detail, 72 hours later, the mold is removed. In the third stage, the negative mold, the printed oil based substrate and the laminated canvas are all placed into an oven press and heated (600° F) under high pressure, causing the oil to liquefy into all crevices on the mold. Immediately, the artagraph is shock frozen with liquid nitrogen, leaving permanent surface texture.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Each individual painting comes with specific numbered certificate of authenticity and appraisal report.
